  1. Right so I had this album for a month now and am finally commenting. I was surprised that there existed a BNL album before Stunt, the album that had four of the singles that we are all probably more familiar with. From this album, more three favorites tracks are, without a doubt, Brian Wilson, Wrap Your Arms Around Me, and What a Good Boy. The worst song is Grade 9, and I think the album would have been better if it was not included. I also like Blame it on me and who doesn't love If I Had $1000000? I'm not sure that this album was particularly meaningful in a critical sense, or the degree of originality it had, but still nice to listen to. At the end of the year I want to ask people to rank their favorites from the GWBC; this one will be hard to place.

  2. I'm trying to catch up on all of the book club stuff, so I suppose it would be a good thing if I finally commented on my own pick. Better late than never.

I had trouble deciding which album to choose. Should I pick one that has critical acclaim? My current favorite? A unique band not many would have heard? I decided to just go with my all time favorite. I've had this CD since I was probably nine years old and it has never left my rotation.

Brett hit on alot of my favorites. Brian Wilson is my favorite song of all time. I love the acoustic bass (especially how it builds to a crescendo at the end) and the vocals. Hello City and Good Boy also have great vocals, and I love the jazz feel of Wrap Your Arms Around Me and Blame it on Me. My least favorite on the album is King of Bedside Manor, but even it has grown on me as I've listened to it over the years.

As a whole, I love this album because I'm a closet car singer (yes, my guilty pleasure is Michael Buble), and all of these songs are catchy with good vocals. I love the use of acoustic bass, varying genre influences, and use of vocal harmonics throughout. I know it may not be the most musically influencial album, but I find it very enjoyable.
