I saw this awhile ago, and though it was very good, it was also pretty long and I'd rather catch up on the movies I havent seen than give this another viewing, so I'll just give what I can remember.
ReplyDeleteAlec Guinness (Obi Wan Kanobi to those who havent watched this yet) gives a brilliant performance as the lead in this film. It was a very interesting character study as the Colonel's loyalties (though always strong and him unaware of the changes) vary and devolop as the story moves forward. I dont want to give away the end, but the ending scene must have been an incredible engineering/FX feat at the time, and how the story resolves is a fantastic ending.
Great movie, everyone should see it once, though Im not sure it merits repeat viewings (then again, I feel that way about most old movies).
